Workshop “Specificity of foodstuff import to China”

On May 6th, 2016 Russian Business Association (China) organized a workshop “Specificity of foodstuff import to China” on the occasion of the largest food exhibition in China – SIAL. The target audience were the companies that have recently started their business in China. Representatives of such companies as Makfa, Tomsk Confectioner, Ural Confectioner, Gran, Altay skazka (Rosa group of companies) and others were present.

The main goal of this workshop was to highlight the most important issues of the China import procedures, specifics of Chinese food market and to give a general idea what steps should be followed on the journey from production in Russia to the consumers in China.

The main speaker was Vadim Shlykov, one of few Russian entrepreneurs who imports alcohol to China and successfully develops distribution in the Chinese market.

The participants came to the conclusion that the crucial success factors for entering the Chinese market are: advanced manufacturing systems, transparent system of management and pricing, brand history, high quality of the product, modern design and well-balanced assortment.

After the seminar there was a lot of positive feedback, RBA also received several requests for further cooperation. The participants expressed keen interest in possible future workshops, that’s why RBA aims to continue the task of promoting Russian food products in China.
